Emaar Square in Istanbul is a landmark mixed-use development by Emaar Properties, featuring residential towers, retail, and landscaped public areas. The North Tower’s composite structure imposed a strict design constraint: minimizing any additional dead load on the floor slabs. Disposable void formwork was applied across all floors as a screed base, reducing screed concrete weight by 50%. The void spaces created beneath the screed also accommodated MEP installations. Additional applications included car park ramps, pool decks, landscape fills, and sunken slab fillings. This project illustrates how disposable formwork systems — the same technology TurStructure supplies and supports on site — perform in premium mixed-use developments.
