TOGG’s Gemlik facility in Bursa, Türkiye is the country’s first domestic automotive manufacturing plant, a large-scale industrial project completed in 2021. Raising the factory’s ground level across a 160,000 m² footprint presented a significant challenge: conventional fill materials such as crushed stone or sand would have added substantial dead load to the foundation and demanded extensive truck logistics and labor. A reinforced concrete raised floor built with voided permanent formwork addressed both constraints, delivering a lighter structure with faster, more economical construction. This project demonstrates how voided permanent formwork performs at industrial scale — the same system TurStructure supplies and supports on site for similar projects worldwide.
